A Brief History

AKME Appraisals, *Divisions, Inc. officially began in 2003. Kelly Best had been offered her Parents’ Property Management Company, however she opted (after her Canadian Armed Forces Career) to use her Business Degree, Urban Land Economics Diploma and Post Graduate Valuation Certification, Appraisal Courses and Past Employee Appraisal Experience to become an Accredited Appraiser and open their own appraisal firm. Her husband, Bill (also retired military) enrolled in University and now is a Designated Appraiser as well. Two of their adult children, Shawna Best and Geoff Coderre are also Partners and have their own Individual Subsidiary Companies. Together they work to bring you the most honest, modern, sourced findings, current Professional Appraisal Reports.

Kelly Best is a partner/owner of AKME Appraisals, *Divisions, Inc. Her current Designation is Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) with a degree in Business Administration, Diploma in Urban Economics (inclusive of 20+ Real Estate Appraisal course), background in both Real Estate Appraising and prior experience in Property Management. Kelly is also Retired – Pensioned Canadian Armed Forces. During her military career, she was awarded “Service Person of the Year”.

William Best

William Best is a partner of AKME Appraisals, *Divisions, Inc. He was awarded the CRA (Canadian Residential Appraiser) designation in 2007. William continues to update and stay current with his appraisal education, taking appraisal courses through UBC and has extensive experience in the residential division.
William’s work in our Valuation Division covers a wide range of property from single family housing to to multi-use investment projects. In addition to completing a full career – he is retired Canadian Armed Forces; Communications and has received my CD1. He also worked as a Communications Specialist with General Dynamics Canada. After returning from the USA, William became extensively involved in Real Property Appraising.

Shawna officially joined AKME Appraisals, *Divisions, Inc. in 2007 and has been involved in the Appraisal Industry for over 10 years. Her current Designation is Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA). At present, Shawna is studying towards her Commercial Appraisal Designation and a Bachelor Degree in Business of Real Estate. She also has extensive experience in the Residential Sector: Single Family Dwellings, Multi Family Properties and Vacant Land, as well as experience with Small Commercial Component Properties.

Geoff's Bio
At a very young age, Geoff became active in the Appraisal Industry. Currently he is the end process of completing the Bachelor of Commerce Degree at Saint Mary’s University. At the same time he has almost completed the UBC courses and requirements needed towards the AACI Accreditation.
